The architecture and statues were excellent. Also it had become hot outside and the Pantheon was a cool respite from the heat.
We continued on our hop on hop off with the plan to go to Montmartre . By this time traffic was very bad and it took so long to get there. We saw a lot of the city though from the bus. I made a mistake and got off a stop too early. We hiked up to the top to see the Sacre-Cour church and the Plaza with the artists.
It was much farther than we expected. Karma was at work making up for the elevator ride the day before! We went into the church. We wandered around and discovered the funiculaire that we could have taken up the hill had we been at the right place. Again a very helpful guide routed us back to the Hop on Hop off bus stop and we continued on our way back. We ended our evening with a wonderful late dinner at a restaurant called Le Scossa at Place Victor Hugo. We had wine of course, artichokes with lemon butter and pepper steak with potatoes. Very French I thought! Then a block or so walk home. All is well that ends well.
