Getting Caught Up

We've had a few very busy days so I haven't kept up to date. I'll  write of our meanderings and will follow up with pictures. The weather has been perfect-mostly sunny but not too hot for sightseeing. We have taken advantage of the good weather and have been outside from morning to night. The Seine, however, is still very high. Also the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay have been closed due to the flood hopefully both will reopen today.
On Monday we got organized for serious sightseeing. We bought our Metro tickets and headed to the Paris Tourisme office. Everything about that was a bit of a hassle- my credit card wouldn't work in the station to buy the tickets and the worker routed us in a very complicated way so we took the advice of a lovely Japanese woman who stopped to help us and used an app on her phone. We arrived at the tourist office and met the only surly employee we have met so far. Wrong job for him and unlucky for us. But we didn't leave until our questions were answered by a very helpful young assistant including downloading the app for the Paris transportation system. We then headed over to the L'Orangerie using our Museum Pass and enjoyed our time exploring the small but beautiful museum. We then headed over to Notre Dame and Sainte Chappelle on the Ile de Cite. We had a very nice lunch/dinner at a busy cafe.
 ...to be continued!
